‘Smoked’ ketchup
‘Smoked’ ketchup is a ridiculous improvement to the stuff from the bottle and easy to make. From Cooking For Friends by Terry Edwards and George Craig.
- -1 cup tomato ketchup
- - about ½ teaspoon cayenne
- -heaped teaspoon smoked paprika
- -big jolt of Worcestershire
Mix everything up.
Notes:
-Your ketchup should of course be Heinz unless you are lucky enough to find a bottle of Cowboy Ketchup, incongruously from Rhode Island given the name.
-The original recipe does not specify whether the smoked paprika is hot or sweet; up to you.
